MUSICALS AT RICHTER NEEDS YOUR HELP
Dear Friends -
This wonderful theater organization, founded in 1985, has astounded and delighted audiences with energetic productions of some of the best that Musical Theater has to offer. We also continue to need your support.
If you're reading this, you're probably already familiar with the work of our dedicated and energetic group. Every summer, we produce a series of musicals on an outstanding outdoor stage, next to the historic Richter House. Located on the grounds of the Richter Park Golf Course in western Danbury, it is a setting of impressive natural beauty – and it is an incredible place to see a musical!
If you’ve been here before, you'll remember: The setting sun, the surrounding leaves stirring with the first cool breezes of the evening, and then: the stage comes alive! The overture begins, the lights come up, and wonderful, talented and incredibly dedicated local performers burst into song.
Perhaps you are about to see “Nunsense: The Megamusical,” or “Brigadoon," or “Bye Bye Birdie." Or maybe you and your younger children are about to enjoy a Saturday morning show at the Wooster School in our youth-focused “Fairy Tale Theater.” Whatever you are seeing, this is community theater at its finest: Gifted performers on the region’s most spectacular outdoor stage. Musicals at Richter is of the community and by the community: an essential part of life – and of the arts – in the Danbury area!
But Musicals at Richter needs your help. As a group that has almost always subsisted on a shoestring, the current difficult economic conditions, and previous seasons' show-cancelling rains, have worn that shoestring down to a few tattered threads. Many former sources of financial support have been reduced or eliminated. Musicals at Richter must therefore find alternative sources to make up for those shortfalls, beyond ticket sales alone. And that has been difficult indeed! So, we come to you with hat-in-hand, with our guitar cases open in front of us, with a smile and a bow. Can you help? If you can, please do!
Support this important part of the arts in Greater Danbury. This is your community theater, in your community park. Keep this theater running. Please give whatever you can – any and all contributions help. It’s really easy to do so… just press the “Donate” button below to make a contribution right now. If you prefer, you can also mail a contribution to: Musicals at Richter, 100 Aunt Hack Road, Danbury, CT 06811. Also, don’t forget to check with your employer! Many employers will match employees’ charitable contributions.
Whether you can contribute right now or not, don’t forget to come to Richter Park this summer to see a show!
